Be a ‘touch’ Phone ‘wiz’!

John Gray asked:

Samsung first announced the F480 along with many other handsets, back in February at the GSMA event. They have now announced that it will be branded by the slightly odd name of ‘TouchWiz’.

The F480 looks very similar to the LG Viewty and the Apple iPhone. The specification is more similar to the Viewty than the iPhone, although we do know that Apple are releasing a next generation iPhone which will be much more competition for the F480 TouchWiz, when it is released.

The F840 is a 3.5G phone boasting a 2.8” 320 x 240 pixel touch screen. It features a 5 mega pixel camera with flash and auto focus as well as a secondary camera for video calling, multimedia player, FM radio, Bluetooth, and microSD card expandable memory up to 8GB. It measures in at 98.4 x 55 x 11.6mm and weighs 100.6 grams which is smaller and lighter than the iPhone and the Viewty. Slightly disappointing is that the TouchWiz does not have GPS or WiFi support.

The Samsung F840 TouchWiz should be available in June. It will be interesting to see if the Samsung F840 TouchWiz is as popular as the iPhone or if Apple will win the war of the phones with the ever popular iPhone.

Which phone is a better selection from Verizon?

Landon W asked:

Alright this weekend I am going in for my upgrade for a new phone. I want a touch screen phone but I am not sure which one would be better to get.

It is either between the BlackBerry Storm or the Samsung Omnia, both new realeases for Verizon.

I was able to mess around on the Storm for 15 mins or so at the store but i have not yet tried the Omnia.

Which one do you think is the better phone? I'm hoping for those who have tried both phones to answer. All input is welcome.
